Signature Feature

Every session recorded.
Every week reviewed. Nothing lost to memory.

Retora recording playback is a weekly review workflow where every class session (Zoom for online, camera setup for on-site) gets recorded, uploaded automatically, then annotated by your experienced trainer with timestamp-specific feedback. You know exactly which second needs improvement, not guesswork.

How It Works

Four steps from session to structured feedback.

  1. Session recorded automatically

Every Zoom class recorded via cloud, on-site sessions recorded via camera + audio setup at venue partner. Zero manual action from participant.

  2. Uploaded to your Retora archive

Recording saved to your private archive level folder (Fundamental to Signature). Access anytime via web or Discord DM link, replay speed adjustable.

  3. Trainer annotates within 3 to 5 days

Experienced trainer watches your recording, marks specific timestamps (nervous timing, filler word count, monotone stretches, gesture issues, plus strong moments), delivers structured feedback notes.

  4. You review + Discord peer feedback

Self-review with trainer notes in hand, optionally share clip to Retora Discord for peer practice cohort feedback. Bring specific questions to next live session.

What gets trackedFramework adherence (P-R-E-P sequence intact?), opening hook clarity, transition markers, close callback

  3. Compelling

FocusStorytelling arc, vocal variety, humor timing

What gets trackedStory arc (setup-conflict-payoff), vocal pitch variance, pause length variance, humor beat landing rate

  4. Command

    FocusAudience read, improv, Q&A adaptive

What gets trackedAudience read moments, improv recovery time, Q&A pivot smoothness, MC flow discipline

  5. Signature

    FocusSignature style, personal brand consistency

What gets trackedSignature phrase pattern, brand voice consistency across events, mentor-quality feedback given to peers

Retora vs Alternatives

What other approaches miss.

  1. Self-review from YouTube

    • Free
    • You watch your own video
    • No expert eye
    • No structured framework for what to look for
  2. 1-day workshop no-recording

    • Live feedback in the room
    • No playback after
    • Memory fades
    • No structured tracking over time
  3. Random WA coach

    • Personal approach
    • Recording maybe kadang, no structure
    • Feedback verbal, not annotated
    • No archive per level
  4. Retora playback review

    • Experienced trainer annotates timestamp-specific
    • Growth archive per level (see week 1 vs week 8)
    • Structured feedback notes delivered 3-5 days
    • Discord peer review optional extension
FAQ

Common questions about recording playback.

Is my session recording private?
Yes. Recording stored in your private level folder, only you + your assigned trainer have access. Sharing to Discord peer review is opt-in, never automatic. You can request deletion of any recording anytime.
What if I do not want to be recorded?
Recording is default because it is the core Retora method, but you can request no-recording sessions for specific reason (privacy, minor kid participant with parental preference). Discuss with trainer at intake. Note that opting out of recording removes weekly review benefit, the wedge that makes Retora different from other classes.
Who annotates the recording, trainer or AI?
Real experienced trainer, not AI. The nuance of what makes a pause strategic vs awkward, what filler is disruptive vs conversational, what gesture is stiff vs intentional, all of these require human speaker expertise. AI transcription may be used for filler word count only as first-pass draft; trainer overrides all judgment calls.
How long is the recording feedback typically?
Structured notes with 8 to 15 timestamp markers per session (varies by level, Fundamental more granular, Signature more strategic). Each marker: timestamp + tag (strong/watch/improve) + specific note (1-2 sentence). Plus a weekly summary paragraph on overall trajectory. Delivered within 3-5 business days after session.
Can I share my recording clip publicly (with permission)?
Yes if you own the content + get trainer clearance. Some Command and Signature level participants share their showcase clips on LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, or YouTube as part of personal branding path. Retora provides a shareable clip download with your permission stamp.
