Your data is a trust we hold. This page explains in plain language what Retora collects, what we use it for, and how we look after it. We have written it as clearly as we can so you feel at ease from day one.
What we collect
We only ask for what we genuinely need to support your speaking journey:
- Your identity and contact details, such as your name and WhatsApp number, when you reach out to us.
- The story of your current speaking level, your goals, and your context (a student preparing for a thesis defence, a professional working on a pitch, an aspiring event MC), so we can suggest the right level for you.
- Any video or delivery recording you choose to share for playback review.
- Messages you send us through WhatsApp or email.
How we use your data
We use your data only to serve your class journey:
- To contact you and answer your questions about the programs.
- To determine the right level from Fundamental to Signature and arrange your cohort session schedule.
- To prepare your recording playback review along with trainer annotation.
- To share information relevant to your program, such as delivery event schedules and material for your next level.
Recordings and playback
Session recordings or assessment videos you share for playback review are used purely to analyse your class together with your trainer. We do not distribute, publish, or use them for public content without written permission from you.
We do not sell your data
Your data is not merchandise. We do not sell or rent it to anyone. We share it only with the Retora team and the trainers handling your sessions, limited to what the class requires.
Storage and security
We keep your data for as long as our class relationship runs and for as long as reasonable records require. We protect it with appropriate safeguards, and limit access to the people who genuinely need it.
Your rights
This data belongs to you, so you stay in control:
- Request to see the data we hold about you.
- Request a correction if anything is inaccurate.
- Request deletion once your class journey with Retora is complete.
Changes to this policy
When there is an update, we will revise this page and change its date. Anything significant will be communicated clearly.
