6 safety principles ensuring kids learn safe and happy
Kids classes are not adult classes made smaller. Retora Kids has specific principles designed with parent educators plus child psychologists to safeguard child wellbeing.
- 01
Parent joins first session
First session of every cohort, one parent joins in the room. We want you to see how the trainer interacts with kids, and the child feels safe because parent knows what is happening.
- 02
Small group max 8 kids
Kids classes never exceed 8 kids per trainer. Kids need personal attention, sufficient speaking turns, and space to make mistakes without embarrassment in front of many peers.
- 03
No shaming, no ranking
We never compare one child to another in front of them. Feedback always in 2 good things and 1 to improve format. Focus on personal progress, not inter-kid competition.
- 04
Trainers experienced teaching kids
Retora trainers for kids are selected from those with at least 2 years of teaching kids experience (teachers, children community mentors, or experienced parent educators). Not adult speaker trainers suddenly shifted to kids.
- 05
Recording optional with parent consent
Kids session recording for playback review only done with written parent consent. Recordings stored privately in Retora Discord parent-only channel, not uploaded to public without approval.
- 06
Scheduled breaks and snacks
Kids sessions max 90 minutes with 15-minute break in the middle plus provided healthy snacks. Tired or hungry kids cannot focus on learning to speak.
